For instance, in 2004, four Commando Hendon Dunkers servicemen were charged successfully in civil court for causing the death of another Guards serviceman during combat survival training.

27-year-old Lieutenant Ng Chin Fong and 28-year-old Lieutenant Divanandhari were accused of pushing (Guards Sniper) victim's head into a tub of water more than 4 times, holding his head underwater for up to 20 seconds each time (instead of 15s) , preventing him from surfacing to breathe and digging his nose so he could not hold his breath underwater.
